Having built two homes previously, we approached building our new home with excitement and trepidation. Along with the fun there are countless decisions, problems and setbacks that go with building a home. Working with the Otis's individually and as a team was a tremendous help. Together they made the planning a dream - lots of great ideas and answers to problems.
Bill worked tirelessly with us to draw the house plans to our satisfaction. He is a hands-on builder and ready to meet on site anytime. Tootie spent many hours on interior design: colors, floor coverings, everything that finishes the home. They both have a great design sense and keep up with the latest trends. Most importantly, they are willing to listen and incorporate ideas and requests of the homeowners.
We would highly recommend Bill and Tootie Otis as ethical people to put your trust in when building a new home. Not only will they do a great job, but they will make it an enjoyable experience!

We have never lived in a house before. We met Bill while taking a stroll around the lake. Our informal chat led into a realistic building project.
Every time we met Bill and Tootie Otis, we were made more and more comfortable. Trust is the biggest thing when you are ready to spend your life savings, and we found plenty of that with Bill and Tootie. Their flexibility and willingness to adjust to our difficult schedules was really important for us. They worked their best to get the best for our house. They understood our limitations, financially and otherwise, and helped us get everything we wanted. We have never had second thoughts.
If we move out of Rochester, we would like to take Bill and Tootie with us to build our second home. It has been a year since we have moved in, and Bill is still very much available for our questions and has helped us on countless occasions. The experience was as if one of our family members was building a house for us. The entire process was very smooth, stress free and enjoyable.

My wife Marcie and I met Bill and Tootie Otis at the Fall Showcase of Homes when they were showing the home they built in Shannon Oaks Development. Walking into the front foyer of the spacious open style Ranch with a direct view through the huge living room picture window was a Wow! experience. The living room inverted tray ceiling and open kitchen/dining room floor-plan with rich custom cabinets and granite countertops was a sight to behold. As I examined the custom spray painted white trim work against the soft colored walls I could tell this was a home built with an attention to detail in mind.
Not only did we love the style and quality of the construction and finishing of the home, we really liked Bill and Tootie. We could tell that Bill and Tootie were straight- shooters that listened to the customer, were pleasant to converse with and would be the type of people we would comfortable working with and would want as friends. We decided to have our home built by Otis Custom Homes. It was one of the best decisions we ever made. Working through the design phase with Bill and Tootie was fun and enjoyable and time well spent. We love our home today. The longer we are here, the more we see and appreciate the excellent construction quality and craftsmanship of the subcontractors working for Bill and Tootie. There are very few people I trust more that Bill and Tootie; and, I highly recommend Otis Custom Homes for customer satisfaction.

Bill and Tootie treated us with respect. They quickly returned phone calls and e-mails, and they helped tremendously with design decisions.
Although our home was modest compared to other new builds, they treated us like we were building a multi-million dollar home. They cared about the details, were onsite daily, and left the job site clean. Their estimate was accurate and we were well informed of financial decisions.

I have been living in an Otis Custom Home for over six years. During my association with Otis Custom Homes I have worked with Bill to plan several additional projects in my home. Bill is very accessible and when he is not able to immediately answer his phone, he returns calls in a timely manner.
Bill Otis quickly becomes more than your contractor. He becomes a valued and trusted friend and advisor. His instincts, ideas and problem solving skills make the process easy and the outcomes far better than imagined. He is respectful and sensitive to my budget. He is a great resource when it comes to knowing where to save money without cutting corners.
No one has a stronger commitment to customer service than Bill Otis. Bill has gone the extra mile to teach me the important details of home maintenance and upkeep unfamiliar to me. Bill loaned me his power sprayer and taught me how to use it on my deck before I had a chance to purchase one for myself. Bill and his wife even came over and taught me about the shrubs, trees and flowers they had planted and how to prune and care for them.
Once he drove past and saw the sprinklers were not covering an area and offered to come teach me how to adjust the sprinkler system to save me the expense of making a service call to the irrigation contractors.
I know I have many more happy years in my Otis Custom Home, but if I were ever to build another home, I cannot even imagine building a home with anyone other than Otis Custom Homes. I can whole-heartedly give Bill Otis my highest, most sincere recommendation.
